In Assassination Classroom, a weird situation affects the life of a struggling Class 3-E. Koro-sensei, an unbreakable tentacled creature with a positive attitude, becomes their new instructor. There’s only one catch: Koro-sensei plans to destroy the moon in a year, and these pupils are saddled with the very impossible task of assassinating him before he does.

With Koro-sensei’s amazing speed and regenerative powers, the students confront a steep challenge. However, as they train, they learn more about their unusual teacher and realise that he may not be the evil they previously thought he was.

Class 3-E builds an odd friendship with Koro-sensei as they balance academic study and assassination attempts. This one-of-a-kind school year becomes a race against the clock as students learn crucial life lessons, hone their skills, and deal with the weight of their mission. Will they successfully assassinate Koro-sensei, or will something else happen instead?

Review:

Assassination Classroom transforms a seemingly insane premise into a surprisingly touching and enjoyable drama. Let’s look at the show’s many components:

Story:

The central notion is novel and fascinating. The assassination attempts generate a unique relationship between Koro-sensei and the pupils, resulting in both amusing and suspenseful scenes. The novel delves into themes of teamwork, overcoming obstacles, and the value of education in unexpected ways. The episodic nature of the assassination attempts might get tedious at times. The pacing can be inconsistent, with some poignant scenes overpowered by comic elements.

Animation:

The animation style is clean and fits the series’ comic tone. The action sequences are well-executed, highlighting Koro-sensei’s quickness and the students’ inventive murder techniques. The animation quality may not be high, but it is consistent throughout the series.

Sound and Voice Acting:

The soundtrack expertly balances action-packed themes with lighthearted and comic elements. The voice acting is excellent, with the Japanese and English performers bringing their characters to life. Koro-sensei’s voice actor, in particular, gives an outstanding portrayal. There are no serious limitations in this area.

Overall:

Assassination Classroom is an anime that goes against expectations. It expertly balances action, comedy, and sentimental moments to create a very compelling story. While the episodic format and pacing may be flawed, the original premise, appealing characters, and essential life lessons learned along the way make it worth watching.
